SCAIL-2 is an open-source AI model from Z.ai for character animation and video character replacement. In plain terms: give it a photo of a character and a "driving video" showing some motion, and it will make that character perform the same motion — either animating a static character to move, or directly swapping a person in the video with your chosen character (even supporting multiple characters at once). Its key advantage is that it skips the usual intermediate steps like skeleton maps or masks, learning motion end-to-end instead, which makes it handle complex or non-human-driven motion more naturally and produces more consistent, reliable results.
