Introduction

Note: this page only catalogs third-party open-source projects and links to their official repositories; it neither develops, hosts nor distributes any software and assumes no liability. These are independent, open-source works written from the ground up, unaffiliated with and not authorized by any third-party commercial software or its maker; any third-party names, formats or trademarks are referenced for interoperability and description only.

DesignCraft is a free, open-source page-layout and publishing app, written from scratch in Rust. It is made for multi-page, image-and-text publications — magazines, brochures, books and reports.

What it lets you do:

  • Lay out professional multi-page documents: magazine spreads, newspaper-style columns, text wrapping around images and shapes, covers and inner pages.
  • Publication-grade typography: its own paragraph composer, threaded text frames that flow automatically from one page to the next, parent pages for running headers/footers/folios, and precise placement in print units (picas).
  • Export finished pages for print or digital release; it even ships a built-in sample magazine you can open to see the results.

Product highlights:

  • Native, pure Rust: an egui interface; the sample magazine is generated from code and exported by its own renderer.
  • Agent-drivable via MCP for automated layout pipelines.

Team & tech: built by the community ArtCraft team (GitHub user storytold, site getartcraft.com); the Craft series is 100% pure Rust, an independent open-source work unaffiliated with any third-party commercial software.

Platforms: macOS, Windows, Linux, and a browser (WebAssembly) build.
