Introduction

Note: this page only catalogs third-party open-source projects and links to their official repositories; it neither develops, hosts nor distributes any software and assumes no liability. These are independent, open-source works written from the ground up, unaffiliated with and not authorized by any third-party commercial software or its maker; any third-party names, formats or trademarks are referenced for interoperability and description only.

PdfCraft is a free, open-source PDF tool (billed as a "PDF workbench"), written from scratch in Rust, focused on reading, organizing, combining, splitting and securing PDFs.

What it lets you do:

  • Read any PDF comfortably: crisp rendering, fast paging, full-text search, select-and-copy text.
  • Organize pages like cards on a table: rotate, delete, reorder, extract, merge multiple PDFs or split one — "without losing a thing."
  • Protect and collaborate: open password/permission-protected documents and respect their rules, add comments and threaded notes, fill forms, and manage layers and attachments.

Product highlights:

  • No account, no telemetry: sign up for nothing, upload nothing — private by design; native pure Rust, fast even on big PDFs.
  • Agent-drivable via MCP for automated PDF handling.

Team & tech: built by the community ArtCraft team (GitHub user storytold, site getartcraft.com); the Craft series is 100% pure Rust, an independent open-source work unaffiliated with any third-party commercial software.

Platforms: macOS, Windows, Linux, FreeBSD, and the web.
