Introduction

Note: this page only catalogs third-party open-source projects and links to their official repositories; it neither develops, hosts nor distributes any software and assumes no liability. These are independent, open-source works written from the ground up, unaffiliated with and not authorized by any third-party commercial software or its maker; any third-party names, formats or trademarks are referenced for interoperability and description only.

SoundCraft is a free, open-source digital audio workstation (DAW), written independently in Rust, for recording, editing and mixing audio — running on both desktop and browser, with no cost, no subscription and no forced network access.

What it lets you do:

  • Multitrack recording & editing: work with multiple audio tracks and waveforms on a timeline, compose MIDI, record, and bounce the result to audio files.
  • A full mixer: faders, panning, sends, automation lanes and plugin processing that cover a common mixing workflow.
  • Built-in sounds: every sound in the bundled demo song is synthesized by SoundCraft itself, so you can audition it out of the box.

Product highlights:

  • Native, pure Rust: an egui interface spanning desktop all the way to the browser — not a webview wrapper.
  • Scriptable and agent-ready: every action can be driven from the command line or by an AI agent over MCP for automated audio handling.

Team & tech: built by the community ArtCraft team (GitHub user storytold, site getartcraft.com); the Craft series is 100% pure Rust, an independent open-source work unaffiliated with any third-party commercial software.

Platforms: macOS, Windows, Linux, FreeBSD, and a browser (WebAssembly) build. Currently at an early pre-alpha stage.
